Don McMillan’s tips are hilarious, but teaches very important basics of how not to design your powerpoint slides. I originally found this in at Dr. Z’s Leadership Institute. You can read the original post here.

Welcome to Sales Engineering Journal. Over the years I built and led very successful Sales Engineering organizations in large enterprise software companies. I am always amazed how little information can be found on the web for this exciting and rewarding profession. This blog is my attempt to share my experience, both as a SE and as a person who held leadership positions. I hope information found on this site will be helpful to aspiring as well as experienced SEs and their managers. While I will focus most of my posts towards Sales Engineering in Technology industry, I hope the information will be useful to many who are in other industries.

So, what am I going to post about? Basically everything about sales engineering, the role, skill sets, challenges, hiring, managing and leading, measuring, the sky is truly the limit. Of course, it will not happen overnight, however, over time, I hope to provide as much information I can and encourage you to join the conversation. I welcome any feedback, good or bad.

As I start this blog today, I went to Yahoo! HotJobs and searched for open Sales Engineering positions. My search revealed over 11,000 positions opened in last 30 days across different industries in the United States. Limiting my search to only jobs that pays US $100,000 or more and specific to technology industry, which is my specialty, reveals 733 new positions that opened in last 30 days. It is a very rewarding position and hopefully you will find this site useful.
